Mexican telecommunications mogul Carlos Slim has beat out Warren Buffet and Bill Gates to capture the title of World’s Richest Man, according to Forbes‘ newly-released rich list. With an astonishing net worth of $53.5 billion, Slim, whose most recent acquisition is a major stake in the struggling New York Times, is the first person from a developing nation ever to be named the world’s richest person. The 70-year-old mogul’s ever-expanding fortunes – his net worth jumped by $18.5 billion over the past year – is attributable to a spike in value for his his enviable cell phone holdings.

Gates (No. 2) and Buffet (No. 3) have not suffered any reversal of fortune that knocked them down on the list; in fact, Gates is up by $13 billion and Buffet by $10 billion for the year. Rather, the magazine notes, their declining position is due to having given so much money to charitable causes. Slim is known for wearing inexpensive suits and rarely using the computers his companies sell, preferring old-style paper notebooks. While he owns an impressive collection of art, including works by French sculptor Auguste Rodin, the AP notes that he works out of a set of somewhat dowdy, 1970s-style offices.

B.G Signs Back With Cash Money

With the addition of Cory Gunz to the stable, it has been reported that rapper B.G. has returned home and signed back with Cash Money Records.

Although money troubles in the past caused a rift in the business and personal relationship between the rapper and Birdman, it looks like the time away has allowed B.G. to get his business mentality up to par to ensure that what happened to him before won’t happen again.

It feels like the Hot Boyz reunion is coming a lot closer as days progress.

Already building his relationship back with Mannie Fresh, Juvenile and Lil Wayne, the vintage Cash Money army is starting to make their return.

Speaking with HipHopWired, B.G. spoke on becoming a free agent after the release of Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood and what it would take to be back with Cash Money and Birdman.

“If the numbers right, if it makes sense.”

He also spoke on how Baby attempted to help B.G. be released from Atlantic Records.

“E1 called Atlantic and asked them what they doing with me. What’s the hold up on B.G.#8217;s album? He offered them a deal, baby offered them a deal to and they turned him down. I guess, they don’t want to see me win or not. Everything worked out perfect, it couldn’t be better.”

Similar to the possibility of L.O.X. doing business with Diddy again, let’s hope that B.G. has smartened up since then and won’t make the same mistake.

Corey Haim, well known child actor died early this morning in Los Angeles.

Police said Corey Haim, 38, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank, California, where he was pronounced dead at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday (6:30 a.m. ET), police Sgt. Frank Albarran told CNN. The death appears to be accidental, possibly an overdose, Albarran said.

Corey Haim, starred in 7 movies , including The Lost Boys. He struggled with addiction for most of his life.
